Q. What to bring & wear to soccer?
Please make sure your child has comfortable clothes, closed in shoes, hat and a water bottle. Uniforms are available for purchase through the customer portal or by sending an email to tigh@sharkysports.com.au (Uniforms are optional).
Q. Where do I go?
Head to the school oval and look for the coach who will be wearing a blue Sharky Sports uniform. Your child will be signed in with the coach.
Q. How long are the sessions?
The 3-5yo class (Saturday 8:30am only) runs for 45 minutes and the 5+ class runs for an hour.
Q. How are the sessions structured?
Sessions start with 2 or 3 "fun" games. These games are often individual skill type games and allow the children to ease into the session. Towards the end of every session we play a soccer match. This is a fun spirited match that gives the children a taste of a "real" match without the pressure of competition soccer.
Q. How much does it cost to play?
The program runs in line with school terms for 8 weeks per term (4 terms per year). Enrolments are done on a term basis and charged at a pro rata rate. For example if you join half way through the term then the term fee will be half price. Fees for the 3-5yo class (Saturday 8:30am only) are $145 per term and fees for the 5+ class are $165 per term.
Q. What happens if it rains?
We do play in light rain and try to avoid cancelling sessions where possible however predicting the weather is difficult. Some parents are ok with a little rain on their kids while others don't want their kids wet at all. The school will sometimes close the oval in certain weather conditions. If we cancel, an email and text message will be sent, otherwise soccer is on. Please make sure your details are up to date via the customer portal.
Q. If you cancel, is there a makeup session?
Yes, if your session is cancelled we will attempt to organise a makeup session. An email will be sent with details. You are also welcome to attend a session at a different time or location if that is more suitable. Contact us for details.
Q. Will my children be playing with older/younger kids?
Yes, the younger group (Saturday 8:30am only) will have children aged 3-5. The older group is ages 5+. A lot of the games we play are indviudal style games which allow kids of mixed ages to play together in the same class. Children are matched by skill level rather than age when it comes to the match during the session.
Q. Can I join anytime?
Yes, you can enrol at anytime throughout the term. Pro rata rate applies.
Q. How does the trial work?
The trial allows your child to have a go before payment. It is not a free session. Trial sessions are available anytime throughout the term. There is no charge for the session if after the trial you don't want to continue. If you would like to continue, normal term fees apply.
